Beth's Harrowing Day on Mt. Hood

Every now and then, a person has a life changing experience that simply has to be shared.

This story comes to us from Beth, who loves to hike the trails around Mt. Hood - the tallest mountain in Oregon.  Beth sent us this story, these beautiful photos and a review of NovaJoint after her harrowing day on a 13 mile hike when the unthinkable happened to her...

The North Face of Mt. Hood

"This is a true and a life changing experience for me.

I live near Mt. Hood in Oregon and over the summer I had really gotten into hiking the nearly 1,000 miles of trails that the area has to offer.

The Carin Basin
I had torn my meniscus earlier in the year and decided to use NovaJoint as a supplement to support my knee as I hiked.

After a month or so of use, I was on a 13 mile solo hike when the unimaginable happened – the rock I stepped on shot out from beneath me and the lower half of my leg bent to the left while the rest of me fell straight down.

Alone on the Vista Ridge Trail
When I attempted to walk, my femur slid off of my tibia, making it impossible to walk normally. I was alone – no one was on the trail – I had a river to cross and 5 miles left of my hike. In the end, I was able to get myself out of the wilderness and back home.

I was horrified by the thought of spending months in recovery, unable to walk. I continued to take NovaJoint every morning, along with eating well, strength training and icing. I was determined to get back on my feet, not only for my own peace of mind, but also because I am in my last year of nursing school and must be able to walk in order to complete my studies.

It has been 6 weeks since my injury and I am back on my feet (wearing a knee brace), hitting the gym to strength train and even back to my part time job. I am far from a fully recovered, but I feel like I have dodged a major bullet. I attribute some of my joint support and quick recovery to NovaJoint. I will continue to supplement my daily exercise and diet with NovaJoint.

You have a customer for life. Thank you NovaJoint!"
